Loyalty Program Guide

Here’s a short video overview introducing the program we launched September 11, 2026. This video is a snapshot in time but the text on this page will update more frequently and is thus more accurate.

The Points

Points may be redeemed for 1.5c each. You must have at least 1,000 points to make a redemption and your redemption will be added to your next scheduled payout after the day of redemption. We want this program to deliver value to users of all sizes and with all goals. We understand power users will likely only ever want cash and our intention to always have a cash redemption option but we hope to have other, non-cash option in the future to support other user types.

Your points will all expire if your account is inactive for 6 months. Both earning and burning points counts for activity and you’ll get one warning email 2 weeks prior to expiry. Points are pooled across all business lines so any earning/burning from any of our three business lines will work to keep your account active.

Three Lines of Business: Three Types of Status

We currently have three main lines of business: cards, fuel, and gold. The status and perks for each line of business are distinct. Selling us lots of gold will earn you status that pays you more for your gold sales. It won’t help with your gift cards sales (nor are any gift card sales required to get the gold perks). The loyalty section of the portal will show you your status for each vertical.

In all verticals status is set monthly because we understand that there are large seasonal swings in activity. In addition to the monthly status tiers there are certain lifetime milestone you can achieve as quickly or as slowly as you’d like.

Gift Card Monthly Status

Gift card status is based on how you rank among our active users (users who had at least 1 sale during the month). Your ranking is 70% gift card volume, 20% reservation fulfilment rate, and 10% card debit rate. The specifics that go into user scores might change from time to time based on what behaviors we need to nudge.

Your rank will change throughout the month whether or not you take actions because other users’ actions can cause them to move up or down in rank relative to you. You can see your current ranking on the loyalty page but all that matters is your final ranking at the end of the month as that is what will determine your status for the next month. Gift Card Lifetime Status

Here is an overview of the lifetime tiers:

The first three tiers on this chart are nothing new and you may have already been awarded these prizes in the past. The lifetime status tiers look at the entire lifetime of your account including the time prior to the program’s launch. That is true on both sides so if you have already chosen a prize from these tiers in the past you won’t get to claim the same prize again now that the system is formalized.

At each tier you’ve got the option to has us donate money to GiveWell on your behalf instead of taking a prize for yourself. GiveWell does extensive research to find grants that save human lives for as little as possible and they pass donations on to these most efficient causes without overhead.

After someone completes the $5m tier we’ll get to work thinking up new ideas for the next tier. In the near future, the million miler tiers will also bestow upon the holders a permanent monthly status similar to how lifetime status works with hotels and airlines. We’ll keep this guide (but, again, not necessarily the video) updated as we add more features. You can also check the loyalty page on the site for a breakdown of what benefits you get.

Gold Monthly Status

Unlike gift cards (which are based on ranking), gold loyalty is based on firm dollar cutoffs. That means that as soon as you cross a tier you earn status immediately through the end of the next month. Here are those tiers and requirements:

We don’t make money when you’re selling us 1-3 bars at a time and our customers prefer more bars per box, too. As such, you only start earning points with the 4th bar per shipment. Bulk shipments count so if you were in the base tier and you combined 2 orders of 2 bars each using our bulk shipping feature, that would count as 4 bars and you’d earn 50 points. Although we use the term “bar” throughout we’re really referring to a sell unit so a coin would count and a multigram pack like a 25x1g would count as a single item for loyalty purposes.

Gold Lifetime Status – Coming Soon

Later this year we’ll offer lifetime milestones similar to gift cards including a free thermal printer for shipping labels starting at just 50 units sold. Also like gift cards, hitting large lifetimes sales figures will unlock lifetime monthly status so if you take a month off you’re not sent back down to the base tier. We will update the guide with more specifics when these tiers are closer to launch.

Fuel Monthly Status

Fuel is pretty straightforward. Like gift cards it is based on your monthly rank relative to your peers:
